Paralympian Dax Adam
Dax felt a strong connection from the first moment he was mounted on a horse.
Dax Adam was born in Scarborough, Ontario Canada. He arrived 16 weeks premature, and complications at birth led to Dax being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. He was given a very small chance of living and doctors said he would never walk. But at the age of four, he took his first steps.
Introduced to horses and riding at the recommendation of his physiotherapists. At the early age of eight it was Dax's goal to represent Canada at the Paralympics.
An Olympic Dream Come True
In 2004 Dax realized his dream to ride for Canada when he was named to the 2004 Canadian Paralympic Team for Athens, Greece. On the road to Athens, Dax was mentored and supported by top Canadian FEI dressage trainer and coach Gary Vander Ploeg based at Pine Ridge Farm in King, Ontario.
